Living Fully with Chronic Health Issues
New Virtual Therapy Group
Living with dysautonomia or a chronic condition can be exhausting — physically, emotionally, and mentally. Symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, lightheadedness, and GI distress can make daily life unpredictable and isolating. Even with treatment, you may feel like you're managing more than you're healing. This group offers a different kind of support: a structured, skills-based space where you can learn science-backed strategies to work with your body, not against it — all while connecting with others who truly understand.
🎯 Now Enrolling: Virtual Group for Adults with Chronic Health Issues
This 12-week, virtual group is designed for adults (18+) living with chronic health conditions related to dysautonomia. Led by Dr. Maria Chi — a licensed therapist at the Boston Center for Health Psychology and Biofeedback, with advanced training and extensive experience in health psychology and psychophysiological self-regulation — the group provides a supportive, skill-based space to help you better understand and manage your symptoms — and live more fully in your body and your life.

🧭 Our Approach
At the Boston Center for Health Psychology and Biofeedback, we specialize in evidence-based, integrative treatment that addresses the complex interaction between physical health, psychological functioning, and nervous system regulation. This group reflects our center’s core approach: combining cutting-edge psychophysiological science with compassion and practical tools for everyday life.
Dysautonomia affects the autonomic nervous system — those body systems that regulate heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, digestion, and more. When these systems become dysregulated, the body can feel unpredictable and overwhelming.
In this group, we use strategies that are consistent with BCHPB’s evidence-based approach, including biofeedback, psychophysiology, and mindfulness-based self-compassion practices. These tools help restore nervous system balance, reduce symptom intensity, and ease the mind-body burden of chronic illness.
🛠️What You’ll Learn
Participants will gain tools to:
-
Identify patterns of physiological dysregulation
-
Practice scientifically backed strategies that strengthen your nervous system’s ability to self-regulate and increase resilience
-
Develop a more compassionate, accepting relationship with your mind and body
-
Cope more effectively with uncertainty, pain, and emotional ups and downs
This is a skills-based support group (not a trauma-processing group), focused on the present and on improving quality of life through science-based, actionable tools. You will learn practical ways to support your nervous system and strengthen your resilience.
